Gamespot - E3 06: NCAA Football 07 Hands-on

Here's a bit more info about the playcalling screen and the new jump snap feature:

LOS ANGELES--The Xbox 360 version of NCAA Football 07 was available to play on the E3 show floor, so we took the opportunity to get hands-on with the franchise's first appearance on the Xbox 360. Graphically, the game looks spectacular, getting a Madden-esque treatment as far as the level of detail put into stadiums and in the character models. You'll see meticulously crafted stands and 3D crowds surrounding manicured grass fields, with shadows cast by light fixtures and press boxes shrouding portions of the crowd depending on the sun's position in the sky. Player models also look much more detailed, with visible musculature on arms and calves, and helmets that glint in the light with their glossy surface. Not all college stadiums will be included in the game, but the development team is putting focus this year on getting the high-profile home fields in the game. We noticed, for example, that the Rose Bowl looked pretty accurate, with the press box at the top and the backdrop of the San Gabriel mountain range to the north.

NCAA Football 07 Playbooks Q&A Part 2 -- More Options Than the Option

In part two of Gamespot's Q&A with Larry Richart and Anthony White, they crack open the new and improved playbooks of NCAA Football 07.

Because college football styles vary so much from conference to conference, it makes sense that keeping track of all those varying styles of play can be a full-time job. That is exactly the case for Larry Richart and Anthony White, two EA Tiburon producers who maintain the ever-expanding playbooks in both the NCAA and Madden series. In part one of our Q&A with Richart and White, we got to know the pair and how they go about collecting the data that goes into each year's playbook upgrades. In part two of our discussion we talk about the fruits of their hard work in NCAA Football 07 specifically, some of the very team-specific plays that give NCAA 07 its collegiate flair, and just who each thinks is the smartest coach in college football.

NCAA 07 Podcast with Corso & Kirk

Listen to football experts Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso talk about the college game, dominant teams, new features in NCAA® Football 07 and more.

New NCAA '07 Formations

One of the biggest changes this year in NCAA was a complete and total overhaul of the playbooks. We are going to see some great new formations this year like the Emory & Henry and the Nevada Pistol to name a few.

This will be a welcomed addition to NCAA which has been a bit stagnant in the playbook department as of late. I for one am very excited about seeing this.

Gamespot has put together a nice article with some good screens of these new formations. We are covering all the action in our discussion forums. Please feel free to post your thoughts.

This is a link to 8 screen shots of NCAA 07 on the Xbox 360.

The graphics were amazing on the build that we played out in LA at E3.

The crowds especially were fantastic. The new live crowd feature should really bring the feeling of college football to the forefront.

That's what makes the difference to me between College and Pro Football...the crowds. College crowds, at least where I live near the University of Florida are CRAZY! That's what makes the game so exciting.

MaddenMania - E3 Coverage of NCAA 2007 Xbox

MaddenMania - E3 Coverage of NCAA 2007 Xbox: "I'll post stuff here bit by bit as I go through, including pictures and whatnot. Typically I'm happy to go to e3 all three days and be at the EA booth for about 60% of the time I'm there, but this time - unfortunately - we couldn't get a pass before the event. So, I had planned to stay home, until a pass was provided for me at the last minute. By then it was Wednesday night, and I have work appointments for Friday. So I cleared my schedule and drove up for a one-day effort this year.

A side effect of this is that I didn't get much in the way of video. By the time I knew where I was going, I couldn't locate the freaking charger for the camcorder...... So I had about a 20% charged battery.... Pasta Padre at MN has taken quite a bit of video, so I really recommend looking at what he's got, as many of you have done."

E3 NCAA 360 Impressions & Screens - MaddenNation Forums

Pastas E3 NCAA 360 Impressions & Screens - MaddenNation Forums: "Pastas E3 NCAA 360 Impressions & Screens

So I'll do the same here as I am with the vids thread, updating this first post a few times and I can answer questions in here as well. Just keep in mind that the questions end of things I wont be able to really attend to until Thursday night/Friday. I may be able to grab some here and there but no guarantees as I'll be busy either at the event or working on getting stuff posted for you guys.

Wednesday

I actually only got a few plays in on this game, most of the time with this was watching Marcus and Rac play. They didnt have it out at the MS event for some reason. So we'll be back on this tomorrow to grab more on it and get me playing.

We had many more options to tinker with here. Longer quarters, access to instant replays, ect.

As soon as I saw it the game reminded me of Madden 360. Looked very similar but streamlined in a NCAA way. The environment looked sharp and player models were slimmed down. The fields looked very good as well, in both good and bad weather."

Importing your draft class, frame rate, and more.
by Jon Robinson
May 10, 2006

You know about the features, Dynasty mode, and ESPN integration. But what about some of the little details?

Here are answers to some of the most common questions I've gotten about the upcoming game.

Can you import your draft class into Madden?

Yes. Go through Dynasty and graduate your players right into Madden NFL 07.

What is the frame rate?

30 frames per second. I can't believe after Madden NFL 06, NCAA is still only running at 30 fps, but that's just the way it is."

E3 06: NCAA Football 07 Preshow First Look - Xbox 360 News at GameSpot

We take an early look at EA's upcoming college football game.

If there's one thing you can count on in college football, it's that momentum changes everything. Just ask the Oregon State Beavers--a team that in the past few years has nearly upset some major competition (we're thinking of two games in the 2004 season where the Beavers came this close to upsetting both LSU and USC, only to blow it in the end). Momentum changes are hard to quantify; certainly a big play--a huge touchdown run, a key interception--can change a team's fortunes in a heartbeat. But there's also the every-down grinding that can slowly see the football fates turn on a favorite and lift the underdog to glory, or just as easily, grind that same overachieving team into dust. Momentum is an essential and ineffable slice of college football, and it will make its presence strongly felt in the upcoming NCAA Football 07 from EA Sports. "
